Studio portraits that feel natural, timeless, and true to you.

Studio portraits should feel personal, refined, and unmistakably you. Using either hand-painted canvas backdrops for a classic, painterly feel or minimal seamless paper for a clean, modern look, each session is designed with intention and simplicity so the focus stays where it belongs: on you.

Whether someone arrives with years of experience in front of the camera or feels completely new to the process, I know how to guide them in a way that feels comfortable, natural, and confident. Through thoughtful posing, subtle direction, and an easygoing approach, I work to create an environment where people can settle in and be themselves.

The end goal is not just a beautiful portrait. It is an image that feels true. Polished but honest. Elevated but real. A photograph that looks like you and feels like you.

A portrait session is more than just having photos taken. It is an investment in yourself, in how you see yourself, how you show up, and how you want to be remembered. Whether it is for your career, your brand, your family, or simply this season of life, thoughtful portraits have lasting value. The right images can build confidence, tell your story, and give you something meaningful to hold onto for years to come.

Client Case Study

Skylark Ensemble

The Skylark Ensemble hired us to create a group portrait while members from around the country were together in town for an event. Because the ensemble’s lineup changes regularly, we recommended a composite approach — photographing each member individually and then combining them into one final image in post-production. The result is a polished group portrait that can be easily updated over time as members are added or removed. Take a look at the process behind the final image.

It all starts with a vision. By understanding the number of people involved, along with the mix of genders and heights, we were able to sketch out the portrait before ever stepping on set. Once the concept was approved, we could plan accordingly — pulling the right props and building the lighting setup based on the needs of the final image.

Next, we placed individual headshots into the sketch so on-site coordination would be quicker, smoother, and more efficient.

On location, we brought all seating, props, and backdrops based on the plan we established during pre-production.

Here’s the group shot captured as a single frame, based on the approved pose. While it’s a solid image on its own, photographing and lighting each person individually for the composite allows for a much stronger final result.

With everyone in position, we lit and photographed each person individually to ensure every subject looked their best.

And here’s the final image, created by carefully masking and blending each individual into one seamless composite.
