Kristin & Kevin: The Carltun from Michael Justin Films on Vimeo.
“They should make dolls out of you two to replace Ken and Barbie, you look so picture perfect here today.” That statement about Kristin and Kevin by their ceremony officiant Father Adrian McHugh couldn’t have been more perfect. Kristin and Kevin are your all-american couple with great looks and great personalities. When we first met them over a year ago, we knew their wedding was going to be a fun one.

The weather held out for most of the day with a few scattered rain drops – but when we needed it the most, we had the perfect cloud coverage and dry skies for some awesome cinematography. Kevin and Kristin gave us complete control over their music selection for this film – something we LOVE. Music is always tricky. On one hand, we need to make sure the film has a soundtrack that the couple likes, after all, they are the ones who have to watch it for years to come. On the other, we need to be inspired by the music to edit a film we are passionate about. Most of the time it’s a collaborative effort. When a couple gives us free reign to use whatever music we want, we really get excited!

We chose a mix of instrumental and lyrical songs to set the mood and tempo we were aiming for. We love slow, cinematic instrumentals during the preps, through the ceremony and vows and then switch to an upbeat lyrical song for the reception. Our decision to do this was justified when Kristin and Kevin commented how they loved the music and how it fit perfectly!

The Carltun was an awesome venue to film at. Set on beautiful green grounds in Long Island, we couldn’t wait to get Kristin and Kevin walking around the venue for awesome photos.

We hope you enjoy this film as much as we did capturing and making it!
