Long Island hosts many outstanding venues for Weddings. For Erica and Matthew’s Long Island Wedding, we headed to the Venetian Yacht Club – a gorgeous venue that sits on the Babylon Cove.
I remember our meeting as if it were yesterday. It was the end of January and it was COLD out. The kind of cold you never want to leave your house for. Matt and I had talked on the phone about his wedding but to really get a feel for me, our process, and our services, I asked him to brave the weather and head down with Erica to meet me.
I liked Matt right away. He told me how important their wedding film was to them and how they would really be stretching their budget to hire us. I understand how budgets go. As a one-time groom, the cost of a wedding adds up quickly and I often struggle with trying to price my services. One one hand I want to be affordable so couples can enjoy the work I do for them but on the other I need to be compensated enough to continue to produce the level of work I do. Obviously I can’t accommodate everyone and depending on the couple, we’re the most expensive wedding cinema studio out, one of the cheapest, or somewhere in the middle. I like falling somewhere in the middle and use my clients as a gauge. If I’m booking every couple that meets with me or only a select few, I know I’m probably too much on either end of that scale. I loved that Matt and Erica were open and honest with me about their budget. After all was said and done, they both saw the value in my work and booked.
What makes this wedding film even more special is that we were able to incorporate footage from Matt’s proposal into it. I’ll let the film explain how he did it but suffice it to say, it was awesome!
We loved everything about their day and hope we did it justice. Enjoy their beautiful Long Island Wedding Film!
