“thats the kind of guy you want to date. Someone who will sacrifice every Saturday for 3 years to tutor and mentor a high school student, thats pretty awesome.” – Olivia on her first impressions of Peter.

The first time Olivia met Peter, she remembers thinking how tall and cute he was but it wasn’t until he started talking about how he had been mentoring an immigrant high school student every Saturday for the past 3 years that Peter left a lasting impression on her. She remembers thinking, “thats the kind of guy you want to date. Someone who will sacrifice every Saturday for 3 years to tutor and mentor a high school student, thats pretty awesome.” The night they went on a date they talked for 5 hours straight. They sat at a bar on the Upper West Side and talked about anything and everything.

We shot their engagement session in Central Park. The weather forecast Olivia and Peter wasn’t looking so good but as luck would have it, it stopped raining just as the session started! This was a blessing for a few reasons – the first being that it wasn’t as crowded as it could have been and second, the rain adds a level of romanticism to the photographs. The colors of Olivia and Peter’s outfits also complimented the area really well. After walking around Central Park for an hour, we hopped on the subway and got off in Chinatown (making sure to grab a few photos along the way). In Chinatown, Oliva and Peter scouted this really cool alley that had colorful graffiti and string lights.

We’re so happy with the way these photos turned out and we can’t wait to shoot their wedding in October!
