NY Wedding Cinema – Alyssa & George – Westmount Country Club
I guess we should start with our initial meeting with Alyssa and George, since it was definitely a first for us. We met in our studio in Manhattan but instead of meeting solo, we actually had Alan from Alan Abrams Photography along for the ride. Alan is a great photographer whom we’ve had the pleasure of working with in the past. When Alyssa and George told us they were going to be meeting with him, we combined the two and made it easier for them since they live in New Jersey.
February is a tricky month in New York – you can get lucky and grab a beautiful day, but those are few and far between. We were hopeful for a warm and sunny one but were left with the complete opposite: cold and rainy. For some brides this would be reason to stress…not Alyssa. When we walked into the bridal suite that morning, she was nothing but smiles and good spirits – a true testament to the type of woman she is. A little rain never hurt anyone, and it sure wasn’t going to ruin the best day of her life.
George is a class act. He’s the type of guy you can’t help but respect and like – and even better, his love for Alyssa is as true as the sun is bright. George’s best man was his father and as his father said in his speech that night, it was love at first sight for the two of them. Having your father as your best friend and best man is something really special, and something we wish more people did.
George and Alyssa’s first look was spectacular. We had George waiting in an outside porch area and although cold and probably not the most comfortable location, he was a trooper and waited patiently for his bride. The moment arrived and as you’ll see in the film, was well worth it.
Since Alyssa and George come from different religious backgrounds, they had an interfaith ceremony with both a Rabbi and a Priest. They combined their own personal vows to the special traditions of both religions. The gorgeous floral arrangements and up-lighting added an intimate feeling to the event.
The reception was just as breathtaking and unique! Besides some great speeches from their friends and families, Alyssa and George surprised their guests with a performance by the Amazing Bottle Dancers! It was pretty hysterical and the energy that they built resulted in one of the best hora dances we’ve seen.
To top it all off, Alyssa and George also had a candy food truck for their guests as they left the event. Filled from top to bottom with the best candy known to man. Name it, they had it. They also had a part of the truck that served soft pretzels and White Castle hamburgers!
It was a great wedding and we were so thankful to be there to capture it.
